Our Mission, Our Team
Anna Ivey and her team help high school students, college students, and recent graduates make smart choices, both in school and at work.
As the former Dean of Admissions at a top-ten law school, Anna decided the fates of thousands of applicants. She saw over and over again what people had done right... and where they had gone off course.
Today, Anna and her team coach individuals privately: counseling applicants on the college and graduate school admissions process; helping people discover their career preferences and map out a career plan; and working with recent graduates as they navigate the transition into the working world.
Our team also partners with organizations to help them improve their efforts to recruit, eduate, train, manage, retain, and serve students and recent graduates.
Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?
- You've watched your older brother get waitlisted at his safety schools in the college admissions process, and now you're starting to worry that you and your family haven't quite figured out how the process works.
- For years you've planned on going to med school, but now that you're in college you discover that you hate your pre-med curriculum and have flunked Organic Chemistry. Now what?
- Graduation is less than a year away. You have no idea what you want to do with your life, and graduate school would be so much easier than going out and getting a job. Plus, your parents are convinced that you need a graduate degree and that you have to earn it now.
- You've been interviewing for jobs but don't understand why you're striking out.
- You've been hopping from job to job after graduating from college but aren't sure where you're headed and haven't yet found a job -- let alone a career -- that inspires you. The people you work for don't get you at all, and you're frustrated that all your ideas and energy seem to be going to waste.
- You know exactly where you're headed in your career, and you need that additional diploma on your wall to move ahead. Is this the right time to apply? What schools will offer you the best opportunities? Which ones are the best match for you, and how do you get in? Are there things you need to do before you can apply in peak form? How do you condense all the wonderful things you've done and experienced into a few pieces of paper?
- As an employer, you don't understand why your Gen Y employees are so hard to recruit, motivate, and retain. You're flummoxed by their habits, preferences, and odd vernacular, and you're realizing that you can't really "hire around" Gen Y.
At Anna Ivey Consulting, we take a holistic approach, because we can't give meaningful advice without undertanding where you've been, where you're headed, and how you can best get from here to there. Anna Ivey and her team are eager to help people tackle these challenges so that they can flourish at school and in the workplace.
